Our first trip to Mexico, for a friend's wedding in Playa Del Carmen near Cancun. The resort we stayed in was all-inclusive drinks + food and was quite pampering and the beaches were beautiful though strangely enough not as used as the pool!

We went snorkeling and I panicked a little when a stingray hovered below my feet. The ceremony was a Mayan shaman one because the groom's grandfather was a shaman. Fun times all around!

After the wedding we proceeded to Tulum, a nearby beach town, with low key hotels lining its beach, definitely more our style. No power supply meant solar panels and generators and low lying thatch roofed buildings-a very good thing! We had the best cabana of the stretch. It was amazing and relatively quiet and very private. Bliss!

Food was delish but since we weren't quite out of the tourist zone, not as unusual as we'd like.

We almost missed the flight on the way back, but that could just be subconscious reluctance to go home!
